During my trip to Paris we took an entire day to leave the city and take a bus ride though the country to visit three gorgeous castles. I only have images for two, which I regret terribly for not visiting the third castle and instead eating gelato.. Each castle we visited was incredibly unique with different stories, historic architecture and beautiful scenery around them.
Castle one: Château de Chenonceau
Built: 1513

Enter through a towering tree lined entrance to reveal the gardens of the Chateau, perfectly manicured to perfection to reveal the castle sitting along the River Cher. 16th century tapestries, original tile flooring and the rooms of Louis XIV and five queens fill the romantic chateau's halls.

Castle two: Château de Chambord
Completed in 1547, constructed by King Frances 1 of France

The double spiral staircase of the chateau is such a unique design. Have a friend climb one entry and you will never meet to find them. This 13,000 acre chateau made it perfect for hunting, with displays in the sitting rooms of the castle. Throughout the castle you will find engravings of salamanders - signature of the Salamander King, Francis I.
