TANNIN' WITH TARTE

I recently purchased the Tarte Play it Safe Essentials Set from Sephora a couple of weeks ago. To prep my skin for summer I wanted to try a variety of products and knew this was the perfect little set to try out!

Taken from the Sephora website, the set includes:

- 0.23 oz Tarteguard sunscreen lotion broad spectrum SPF 30

- 0.23 oz Maracuja bronzing serum gradual self tanner

- 0.05 oz Brazilliance skin rejuvenating maracuja self tanner

- 0.11 oz Amazonian clay waterproof bronzer in park ave princess™

- 0.045 oz Brazilliance skin rejuvenating maracuja self-tanning face towelette

I have yet to try the sunscreen but I did have a really good experience with all of the other products. The self tanner seems like a very tiny sample but I was actually able to use it on my entire body. I definitely should have used a mitt but other than my extremely brown shimmering palms I loved it! I'm already fairly tan so I didn't expect any huge results but was pleasantly surprised with my nice little glow the next couple of days afterwards.

I use the bronzing serum at night, mixed with my creamy moisturizer. It makes my skin feel very nice and plump afterwards and continued on to the next day. My only complaint is the scent I get from using it. It smells just like fish... Not exactly an ideal scent but I'm not easily bothered so this was okay for me. Smelly skin for the night is worth it!!!

As for the towelette, this was tricky to use.. There is no color on the towelette and nothing on the skin after application so I definitely smeared a bit too much on my forehead in relation the rest of my face. Knowing this, I would still re-puchase. Now i just know how to use the product correctly.

This bronzer is so amazing... It's the perfect shade for my skin tone. Many bronzers are too light for my complexion but this one is great! It has a slight reflecting shimmer to it - not glittery or gross, there's just a nice highlight when you turn your head in the light. I will definitely be purchasing the full size when I hit pan - which looks like it will be soon!

Overall, great thoughts. I would definitely repurchase next year as I love miniature things and sample sizes. This would be a great gift for someone getting ready for a vacation or special event like a high school prom, college formal, etc.
