On my 21st birthday I went straight to the DMV to change my license and almost didn't pass my vision test - haha!! I didn't bring my glasses and I don't wear contacts so when she told me to read the line, I just totally blanked and was trying really hard to come up with the right letters. I started to read the line and she stopped me and told me to read line number five. I was thinking, Uhh I am reading line five... but then told her, "Oh! Line five! Sorry!" Then paused and tried super hard to get the letters right. I passed, but just barely.
I had been wanting to get new glasses for months. The frames I have are great but the upper portion sits low on my face and I can't see anyone within a 10 degree angle of me unless I am tilting my head back. They're also scratched up pretty badly in one of the lenses.
I was looking at two different styles when ordering my Warby Parker glasses - tortoise shell frames and these super retro kinds with the thick top frame. Here are the frames I ordered for my home try-on!
These were my favorite choice when I was putting the glasses in my cart online. Now that I have them in my hands I feel like they're too tall for my face. I really like the half frame look - it reminds me of Madmen and the super nerdy retro look.
This is another of the same style. I thought these were too wide but I think since my head looks like a thumb they fit my face better than the last pair which were a little too tall. It's a tie between this pair and the last pair that are my favorites.
This is my favorite pair in the set that I ordered. The frames aren't too wide for my head and I've been really into tortoise shell frames lately. Right now it's between this pair and the last one that I really like.
This pair is way too long on my face, I think I look like a grandma hahaha. I like that the frames are pretty thin on the sides but this pair is just way too big for me.
This pair looks exactly like the one I have right now actually. Pretty much the same shape, just with different colors. Although I like these frames, they're just too similar and I would like to get something with a slightely different shape.
Those are all the pairs that I ordered! Have you tried Warby Parker before? What do you think of the process and would you recommend it? My box got lost in the mail for a few days and the glasses were pretty scratched up and gross when I finally received them, but other than that I really enjoyed the process! I had fun with the virtual try-on as well as this home try-on too.
